THERE'S NO CRYING IN BASEBALL!!!!!!! :) Today I had some time to read a few chapters of one of my favorite books so far. It's called Dirt in the Skirt which is the autobiography of Lavone "Pepper" Paire Davis, one of the original Ladies of Baseball, a top-notch catcher and a 10-year veteran of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League of the '40s and '50s with five championship titles. She was Marshall's first choice as chief adviser on the film "A League of Their Own" and in 1944 wrote the league's baseball song used in the movie. I loved the movie after watching it years ago, it has got to be one of my favorites as well since I grew up playing softball my whole life. The book makes me laugh though because Pepper and I have so much in common and she sounds like she was so much fun...

.I was excited to see Pepper who signed my book for me with a personal message which was really neat. After meeting her it was just so amazing how much spunk she still has while seeing how frail she has become. She is still a 20-something at heart! This book is a must read for all softball players! It is greeeeeeeeat! Additional pics to come...

Wow August here already and I'm learning to love everyday I have! God has been blessing me in such amazing ways despite my life situations! God has sent my way so many new awesome Christian friends! Having a solid Christian friend seems to be hard to come by these days and I sit here thinking to myself how it seems like they are just being thrown at me! I realize I had prayed to God not too long ago for just that....it's amazing how God does answer prayers and always tends to go above and beyond our requests. Like the Bible verse says "Keep on asking, and you will be given what you ask for. Keep on looking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And the door is opened to everyone who knocks. Matthew 7:7-8. Thank you Lord.
